I talked with him on the phone about this car today, sounds like a cool car but the owner painted it purple throughout, so it ruined it for me. B7 is such a rare color on 69 Darts and this being such a late built car would have been awesome! As said above, it is just a hot rod now and may look cool purple with a sixpak, but not worth what he is asking for it.

What is it with cool blue colored cars being painted purple?

Just ain't right, is it?

The seller didn't try to pass the car off as being repainted by the dealer for the impending release of FC7 to go with the 6 pack addition ?

looking at buying a 1969 dart 340 4 speed 4 barrel car - the guy who owns it says its a 6 pack car and only 50 made but the fender tag shows e55-- claims galien will verify 6 pack status-- has all the six pack stuff carbs intake and air cleaners -car also sports torque boxes any thoughts ? ///
hyefatman said that...

I think the the main issue here especially for the Mopar newbies is don't jump on a what looks like a good or rare car until you research what it really is.
Regardless of what this seller claims until actual paper trail proof is established, it is just a 69 340 Dart.
Dealer installed options do not equal factory installations. Lots of items were dealer installed that does mot make it a rare car.
For instance I have a Edelbrock DP4B with Chrysler part number cast into it which I bought after market.
Just a few thoughts on buying Mopars...never was it truer "Buyer Beware" Congrats to hyefatman for having the good sense to check it out.

I recently sold a 69 340 4-speed GTS to OhioMopar that was B5 originally and painted purple, oh the irony...

With the Edelbrock LD340's, those sold through Direct Connection over the dealer parts counter had the Chrysler P/n cast on them, where the same LD340's sold by speed shops did not have the Chrysler P/n on them. I suspect it is the same story with the DP4B you have. But as you may be suggesting, just because it has a Chrysler P/n on it, does not mean they ever came from the factory with that part.
