ok called strange yesterday to talk about a new dana 60 with 40 spline axles to replace my 8.75. my 8.75 has 35 spline axles and wilwood brakes(drag race)i was going to use my brakes on the new 60 but the guy said i had to buy strange's brakes because the bearing on the 40 spline is bigger and will not fit the bracket i have for my brakes. anybody else ran into this and have a solution for me. going to call wilwood on monday to see what they say thanks guys

True! the set 7 bearing is not big enough to accept the 40 spline axle, hence the need for a larger housing end and diff brake bracket.

You can make up new brackets(thats all thats needed)
or a little welding and drilling on you old brackets

You could run a Strange Hybrid 3.15" bore Mopar housing end and modify your caliper brackets.

Or, you could run a Ford "Torino" housing end, and buy the appropriate caliper brackets from Wilwood.

Do you really need the 40 spline axles? I run 35 spline in my Dart, 1.25 60 ft, trans brake, 3050 lbs. I do run the 5/8 studs, that to me is almost a must at my power level for safety.
