OK..Will a 64-65 bellhousing work in a 66-up B-body car ?
The reason I ask is a guess the bosses for the cross shaft might be in a different location.

also I have conflicting info on #2463019 Galen's book says it's 11" but other sources say its 10.5 is there any way to measure the housing to tell ?

There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama & people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good.

I know that the inspection cover is different.

A 10.5" will be smaller than an 11" and will NOT bolt up.

There wasn't a passenger-car 11" clutch until the '66 Street Hemi; even the A990 cars ran a 10.5" clutch. You'll likely have to mock it all up and look at the cross shaft to see if it lines up (frame/bellhousing pivots) & fits as far as width, and places the rod to the throwout arm so that there's no binding or over-centering. The cross shaft may tolerate some minor pivot height difference. You can modify or make the mounting brackets at either side or the cross shaft if you have to.

I have a 65 bb bellhousing that I acquired in a trade. It does require the smaller cover (same as 70 513 aluminum bb bellhousing, but uses the smaller "small block" 4 speed bearing retainer, so if you have a 4 speed with the larger od on the bearing retainer it will not fit into the hole in the bellhousing, even though the 4 transmission bolt holes are the same.

Yeah, it's hopped up to over 160...

Galen's book is wrong, that's a 10.5" As previously noted, all before '66 were.

I wouldn't worry about 10.5" vs 11" clutch sizes; I've had 10.5s behind several 383s and a healthy 440 with zero clamping issues.
I'm pretty sure all A833 23-spline bearing retainers (aka "candlesticks") are interchangeable, and that there were 2 sizes; you could also turn yours down if need be on a lathe. What I don't recall is whether the input shaft for an 18-spline (Hemi/440) is larger OD than the 23-spline.

Yes it is.

I don't have the spec's in front of me but the "Hemi" A-833 input shft is noticiably larger.
