why? because they are not calibrated for accuracy down the 100s of pounds. try it some time smart guy

Makes me wonder as a year or so ago I took my duster down the road to a company that has a scale and at the time the car weighed 3260 without me in it. I thought that sounded about right. So last spring while Ryan had my engine I converted it over to wilwood and strange disc brakes and also put on streetlites and a cage. All told I probably should have at least lost 100 lbs even after adding the cage. So I took it to the scales a few months ago and what do you know it weighed exactly 3260 again?!? I had even lost 25-30 lbs and was definitely left scratching my head.

SORRY FOR THE BAD LUCK ON YOUR SCALES,

scales can get knocked out, due to no maintance, weather, bad truck drivers, slamming brakes on it worse thing.
but if they are cert they have to be accurate +or- within # s not 100s of # why you say, because everyone get paid off scales in almost everything, including gas to cereal , if the scale is cert, and someone is cert it that way , he is not doing his job!

My 71 Demon is right at 3470.The car lost 60 lbs with aluminum heads, water pump/housing and radiator.

440/727/Dana 60.'Glass hood and 1 seat,no carpet 6 pt roll bar.the rest of the car is all steel.

And I will say that Quicktree is correct. On some scales here as I weighed my car/trailer at 2 different scales and the weights were different by over 100lbs.I don't know about OTR scales,I didn't use one of those.Next time I'm using the scale at the race track.

We have weight it at Gateway ,RT 66,& Indy. Gateway was the heaviest
RT66 lightest, Indy same as truck scales on I55,
We also have a 68 bb dart gts, weights 100 lighter
So have enough scales time with the cars ,25-30# not enough for me to care about
carry on

Yes, a Dart will be lighter. However, you will never replace the cool factor of the Coronet...just something to consider. I had a 69 Charger at one point and replaced it with my current 69 Dart and always kinda regreted it. Would the Dart always be faster cause of the weight advantage? sure. But the B bodys definately are more stylish (my opinion here) and you dont see them as often at the dragstrip. Especially ones that run quick

I have a 69 GTS but i think the 68-9 Coronets are sleeker than the Dart but not the others, personally, i like early E bodies the best and yours is the coolest on here Blackfish.
A body's are cooler, when you're running half a second quicker down the track with the same motor.

A-bodies are cool...B-bodies have more room to work on them. My last B-body race car weighed 3077# at the line...my new/light, all steel except the hood, original glass, A-body, weighs 3300# at the line. Also, my A-body is street legal with all the comforts of home inside. The B-body was 'stripped/gutted/not street legal/cutup/lightened/fiberglass everywhere/lexan/did I mention stipped..' you get the idea and comparison. I also prefer the B-body cars.
