I'm having a severe brain fart.No gasket available, aluminum on aluminum.Intake top cover/plenum.only seals against vacuum.I know it's not normal rtv.guy at the parts store wanted to sell me a anaerobic sealer. That didn't seem right to me.what should be used?

Go to your local Yamaha dealer and get a tube of
Yamabond... they seal the case halves with it

As Mr P mentioned Yamabond is a very good choice... As is Loctite 518 which is an anaerobic sealer...

Permatex Hylomar HPF flange sealant is made for that as far as I know. Should be easy to get.
