Is there a reason that the vacumn lines on a six pack are ribbed. Would it be for added strengh. I used regular rubber lines and the carbs are not always opening. I checked everything else and I'm wondering if maybe the vacumn is sucking the lines closed.What do you guy's think?

they don't need ribs. there's not enough vacuum in the lines to cause collapse.

x2. if you're looking for them to open while playing with them in the driveway, not gonna happen. you can test them by sucking on the middle one and watching the pots for movement.

Take it out and lay into it, you'll know if the outboards open or not..trust me.

the ribs are / were nothing more than for manufacturer indentification
