Changed my automatic to a four speed and it acts like the starter relay is bad (70 Bee) as the relay clicks and nothing happens w/ the starter. Looked online at NAPA and it lists two but no info for either. One has one spade and the other has two (like mine). Before I buy just wanted to make sure I have the correct one if there is a difference. (BTW brand new starter). Thanks in advance!

I believe so, the ground for the relay just goes to the clutch safety switch on a manual instead of the neutral safety switch of an auto.

If the relay is clicking, it should be doing it's job. Is there power available to the starter solenoid when it clicks?

I think so, but am not sure. I finished in a hurry and didnt get that far. So other than the ground location, there's no difference?
Thanks Goody!

I think there are 2 different relays. One for auto and a different one for manual.

yes they are different , but depends on the year , 69 down had 2 seperate relay , one spade is connected to the case , you can just take a wire and connect it to the terminal you took the wire from the neutral safety switch , lower right looking at it and tie it to one of the bolts holding it to the firewall.

Not sure what year saw the clutch safety switch so after a certian year the both used the same relay .

The one use for automatics can be used with the stick transmissions by grounding the neutral safety switch terminal.

For 1970 and later, the relays are the same regardless of transmission

S102 in the picture.
S101 is manual trans 1969 back to approx 1966 depending on application

Thanks for posting the "S" #s, they came in handy at O'Reilly's when I needed to replace my '64 stick relay with a correct one for an AT; those are apparently reference #s that show up on their computers. While they showed the later-model relay as correct (wrong mounting tabs), I was able to get hte correct one by using that #. Thanks again.
