Theres a party at my track every Points day ( no drugs) after eliminations, I`ve been asked to come on by after eliminations, They are friends, fellow eliminator competitiors but I`m not really a drinker and I drive a truck as part of my job 2-3 days a week and need my CDL, I would never risk that its just not worth it. I`ll stick to my Diet Dr. Pepper. There have been incidents at my track with track management and the police coming its partly why there has been a change in track management, I`ll just leave it at that.

Its not about brains, its about risking my hide racing against someone that is impaired. Not to mention the car I have built out of a slim budget over the last 31 years. If you can spot someone impaired, its way beyond time to step up and say something. How do I know this? Lots of experience. Never got a DUI . Been sober since 1980, but drank like a fool for twelve years prior and risked a lot of other peoples safety because I was too selfish to put them ahead of my selfish needs. I am extremely lucky to have never hurt anyone. I pray to GOD you don't either. Because if you do, some day you may sober up enough to feel what you really did to the victims. And it might be enough to make you end your own life.

I don't do drugs (never have) and only drinking I do is at the house on occasion, and that's a couple of beers when I'm cooking on the grill. I don't condone any drinking or drug use at the track, and I don't really like spectators in my pit area with beer.
I like to have a good time as well, but the race track isn't the place for drinking or drug use.

Fair enough, I did come across like I was assuming you did. My bad. But it sure sounds like we are in different corners. I am not against drinking either. Just those that put me or my family or friends at risk. P.S. let that part of the post stand for those that DO drink and race.

I agree with Raff! Nothing at all wrong with drinking..when racing for the day is OVER! And nothing wrong whatsoever with drinking that GOOD beer...from our GOOD friends to the North! Alexander Keith's..Sleeman's..Molson Brador! Thanks Ron and Kevin!...Raff and I are still enjoying the "stash" left over from Norwalk!

Anyone that thinks they are better on drugs than sober has a serious problem. I would never leave the line with anyone that I knew was under the influence of anything. Sure, I don't mind having a cold one or two while camping at the track in the evenings, but during the day, between rounds...... I've never personally witnessed this, and would call foul on anyone I found in this situation.
I like to have fun as much as the next guy, but theres fun, then there's stupid.

I know a guy (SuperBeeLee) who likes to get a BUZZ-ON(a couple of beers) before and during racing. He is not drunk or tipsey. Is he good ? ... He hit a Central MI payday for something like 12k$ !
His worst package during elims was something like a 008.
So that makes it ok?
I suppose he tows his rig home the same way. Too big of risk in my opinion.
Beep
Did you hear me say it was OK ? ... it is just what he does. And he has been a danger to NO ONE. I have seen him drive .... both on an off the track and he is fine ... "it" just gets him in that "zone". And he has been stopped before by a State Cop ... after coming back from either Milan or Central Michigan ... NO problem.
And he DRIVES his bracket-one car to the track.
But what ever you do ...don't drink "Jack" .. it makes you ...so I hear ...
