Hey Rob, Your 65' still has torsion bar front suspension correct? Also I was informed by another racer that the NMCA rules commitee was listening to opinions on some new rule ideas, one was letting 8.50-9.00 run up to a 14x32 tire. They are trying to get more NHRA/IHRA Super stock cars in the mix like thunderbolts, 64'-67' B Bodies and the AH cudas and darts. Think about it there are a lot of cars that this would make legal. poppaj
PoppaJ did you hear if they confirmed about that tire rule change for 8.50-9.00?
Hi Rob, Have not heard anymore on the 14x32 tire talk but I think it will be tough to convice the NMCA to do this since thier top classes run in the 5's on 10.5w x 33.5's which all A/NSS and all FX classes can run now. They are almost the size of 14x32's. Most guys put them on 15" wide rims. poppaj
Im going to have to get 16" bead locks and do like the outlaw guys do... My rims are 16" wide because the rear is to narrow....
Rob, M/T makes a 10.5w x 33.5 x 16 all the top NMCA class guys run them on 16x16 beadlocks. Should be the ticket for you if they vote down the 14x32's
i dont belive you can run that 16 in tire in nss.

Yep he is right 16 inch tire is a no go. That's why burris had to change. Why not just run a 15x15 rim and throw a 33x10.5w on?
My rims are 15x16 wide so Im fine... I can run those tires then.... Ill just have to get a set or beadlocks for those tires...I dont under stand what the big deal is if you do run a 16 rim anyway just less side wall and stiffer tire I believe... Would be nice if they did make 14x32 legal in FX class....

All this talk about the fastest NSS car, I suggest bring them to Beech Bend for the Dave Duell Classic (NMCA) race in August 2012 and register them for the 8.50 index for the weekend. NMCA usually does a thorough tech job. This would probably show who's the baddest, if they can cover the 8.50 index and pass tech. You can let hang out in qualifying and then slow down to the 8.50 index for the race. fwiw my keyboard only runs the 10.50 index

Think there is only a couple of mopars that can hit the 8.50 index, Sanders and Habura, and it will take good air and a good track.

The tire rule is not going to change in NSS. It is a core rule in the NMCA. The only rule change for 2012 is to add the AAAA/FX which is 8.50 class. This will have to been done on 10.5W tires. Thanks, Doug
Thanks Doug for clarifing that with us... I love them wagons.... I so cant wait to see the War Wagon run again next year....

Actually I have been wondering about the B-1 stuff in NSS for quite a while. So with the wording of the rule as per 1.17 with any internal modifications can't you guys run M/C's? After all is is the same casting. I guess is all up to interpretation. Thank you for clearing that up.
Whats up Dap? There are a few guys running B1 heads in NSS... They wont let the TS or Preditor heads run...
Actually as far as I know we have the only B1 NSS car running at the moment. Dap your right we could run the M/C no problem, in fact could run a PSO head
Casey
I wasnt aware of that Casey that you guys were the only ones running a B1 head... Id figure if it was legal to run a lot more guys would run them since you can make some big power with B1 heads... 2012 should be a good yr for the NSS cars since more racers are stepping up there program...
NoJoke let me get this straight....YOu think its ok for WhompinWedge to have a B1 head...but SSR cant?? Or shouldnt?? Just trying to learn all this geriatric NSS racing stuff
Tony your right I never did meet you yet next time I will come by and say hello I have no beef with you... You can come by my trailer to Ill share some cannolis with you as well...
As far as the B1 heads I dont make the rules... The only reason I asked about the tire size 14x32 is because my rear was shortened so much that is I ran a 10" or a 12" rim even with a 3" offset I will have 8" of open quarter... The tires will be tucked under the car so much that it wont be safe as well as look like crap thats the only reason because I would have no problem running a 10.5 tire Im only going to be running in the 9's...
Your right NSS should be run period correct but also in the 60's they ran a FX class cars that were modified...
Who said SSR car run a B1? He dont have B1 he has a TS heads big differance....The black car cant run NSS tube front end he has to change that back to stock front suspension as well as steering... Thats why I changed my front suspension I had a tube front end as well with a rack....
