Both of those cars wouldnt pass tech at an NMCA race most likely....

I forgot Grinwald and Crazy Larry in my previous post.. both in the 8.80s..

And Nojoke dont worry about me making an 8 sec pass in the whompin wedge, that will come soon enough

Casey

I've seen this car at Atco and it has to be one of the nicest cars I've seen. What's he have under the hood of the car?

legal or not politically correct, I still enjoy watching those OG's row gears in those cars. Nothing like a STICK car with every one heart on board for that leap of faith and shifting in haste.

Man if I could afford it, my new car would be a stick. I've talked to more than a few guys running this quick at these weights. Brutal maintenance.

Kauffman head pontiac, somewhere in the mid 400ci range IIRC.

They are both around 2500 lb IIRC. I could ask him. Lucky's did the chassis on both, beautiful work. The wagon has been low 8.30s, has more left in it. was running 7.90's IIRC with a non NSS legal kauffman head motor. The sedan has been 8.40s or 50s. Both run G-force 5 speeds. You have to see them in person, I have rarely seen cars as nice.

I did not know you could set a record in NSS racing ? I have raced with a few and I ran in an 11.50 index class (had to dail every 1/2 second) and another that you have to dail on a 0 you know like 10.80 or 10.90 so I just did not know the system even has a way to set records ? I assume the Ford is just the fastest car running the class as I would think its the blue Falcon running with the 422 club ? Ron

NSS Really has very little restrictions....... Any cubes, wt, compression, valve sizes, heads mods are not controlled and carb rules are liberal...... It is not regulated enough for evaluating performance to regulated specs, like NHRA/IHRA Stock/SS. The cars are cool and the series is good........

It would be hard to say who has the fastest nss car because there are different organizations with some different rules. Nss was started back in the 80's by the midwest nostalgia association. Then nmca adapted their rules and made them a class for them to race. Latter nsca did the same. Most nss rules still follow those same rules. Then 422 comes along with some very fast cars and wanted nmca and nsca to change the rules to fit some thier cars that did not fit. They did not have intakes carbs and had large tires. Since that did not happen they started their own series. Which is fine but everyone else was follwing different rules. If you look at who is fast that follows the nmca rules you find that there are a few that have gone fast. Paul Habar 63 wedge car went something like 8.60's Bill hombrick's 64 hemi car has gone 8.80's I have gone 8.90's and I think popj went 8.90's and I think ssr has now gone 8.90's and there may be a few that I missed. Im sure someone can chime in on that. In regards to that pontiac wagon I dont think that could fall into any nss class not even pro nostalgia which was a heads up class that was cu.in. to weight factored class and the rules where alittle easier. Hope this helps. Jake
