Just got done installing the TFOD-HD2 kit in my 42RH in my Fury. The problem I'm having is it won't upshift out of first. If you leave it in drive or second, when it should be shifting out of first, it acts like it goes into neutral. It's fine in manual 1st, and reverse. No slipping in those gears. This is a fresh trans, and the car drove perfectly before the kit was installed. The front pump now whines when you're in reverse. I followed the instructions, did the front and rear servo parts, and installed springs and drilled where it said to. I'm gonna pull the VB when it cools down, but is there anything I should be looking for? I'm obviously going to go through each step again. Any ideas? It's a 95 42RH/A500

I had this issue on my 904 with a stock VB, It was low line pressure noise, It would mone just in reverse, I dropped in a cheetah VB & cured all illnesses, BTW, this tranny was recently a rebuild, you may need to go back over all the check balls in the VB, check everything you did, I once bought that kit, didn't like the layout & all that was involved so i sold it & went with the TA Cheetah.

Yeah, like I said, it just acts like it goes into neutral until you stop, or manually pull it down into first. Gonna completely disassemble the VB and clean/check everything, and also air pressure check everything, clutches, band servos, etc. Hopefully its something easy and obvious.

Well, I think I found it. When I was putting the valve body together, the throttle valve fell out. When I put it back in, it appears I put it in backwards. I'm surprised it even went in. Everything else checks out ok. Gonna do the air pressure check and button it up and try it again. I guess I get to wear the "dumbass" nametag for a while!

Well the throttle valve didn't fix it. The only other thing I can think is when I had the od unit slid back, I broke the governor seal rings or knocked something loose when I put it back on. It didn't slide back onto the case flush, so I drew it on with the bolts. Could that do it?
