I'm putting my Duster front end back together and the lower control arms seem to be getting pushed back by the brake strut rods. I can't imagine that I'm using some other wrong arms. Can you guys help a brotha out and give me a measurement on the strut rods. It's big bolt disks. thanks!!

Are you running poly strut bushings?

Are you running poly LCA bushings?

If so, try cutting 5/16" off the REAR bushing AND the center sleeve. Details and instructions here:

I like to cut the bushing and the center sleeve so I it shortens the whole assembly so then you can you can get to the roll pin hole.

Yes there's 2 diff lengths and the fine threaded and the coarse machined down end portions and the threaded lengths within the machined sections on each end are diff also (both as in all 4), definitely the front end that goes thru the bushing assy is different and iirc on the rear fine threaded portion also. Been trying to find my notes & cant (too many scattered notes ) but the longer ones will not work & not 100% sure they were A body but all I work with is A's so I was thinking so but I wouldn't think there's more than 1 size of (A) strut rods but there may very well be

i have a 71 dart swinger- drum brakes
i replaced the strut bushings with new 73 bushings
because i had them, and had changed to the spool mount K frame. i just thought the 71 were worn thin

That's when i found out the 73 are thicker than the 71 oops
moves the lower arm rear ward. not enough caster
