Removing this dashpad is new to me.I could use a little help on how to do it.Is it glued to the top of the dash or do I need to start tearing out glove box, radio and gauge cluster.I looked up under the dash and didn't see any thing that looked like it might be holding the pad on. There was a trim strip on the front/bottom of the pad that is missing. Thanks for any hints, tricks and help.

This would be so much easier if I knew what I was doing...

I think there's 5 or 6 studs integral with the dash pad that extend thru the metal dashboard and there's those thin tinnerman? type flimsy nuts on the studs. long 1/4 or 3/8 extension and a 3/8" socket and a penlight and yes they're hard to get to and get a straight shot at

Which body style and size of dashpad, Polara 500 or a 330? If my memory is working close to proper tonight I think the non full padded dash has several, 3 to 5, studs like already said above the instrument cluster, the full padded dashes have a lot more studs in them

My 64 Dodge dash pad is held on with 4-5 tension clips... little X shaped spring clips that snap into the metal dash.

I'll look for a picture but I'm pretty sure as I remember one of those metal spring clips scratched my new dash paint !

couldn't find a pic of the bottom of my dashpad, but here is the style of my dash pad... should be the same as your Polara.

Glad to help! So the spring clips are along the edge of the pad closest to the windshileld. If you contort well enough, you should be able to get at them with some needle nose pliers without removing anything else. Good luck.
