In my opinion the MSD has a better rev limiter. Other than that they're pretty similar, and the Fast software is easier to use.

I have the MSD HEMI 6.....The stupid thing comes with a 9 pin serial port data cable that you will have to spend another 40 bucks to convert it to USB so you can use it. What a Joke

Other than that it seems fine

I just can imagine why they would make a product that you cant use

This is confusing,,,I need a computer to 'work' the MSD??? I have not seen the FAST unit yet,,but,,some of my contacts have,, they say, the unit is self contained and adjustable with a screwdriver..? (potentiometer?) :...I don't know ..just looking for some info.
I know of one person using the FAST set-up, and they seem to like it so far. This could all change, next season, as it is a dirt car and the season is over here. I am a "lost ball in tall grass" with this new technology...

The MSD HEMI 6 Box that you would use for your coil packs has a 9 pin serial port on it.

You can purchase the MSD hand held deal and set your timing and rev limits etc...

or you can hook up to a lap top and set your timing and rev limits.

But the HEMI 6 box has no dials or chips like a regular MSD box.

But like I mentioned before the HEMI 6 box comes with a 9 pin serial cable that will not hook to a lap top unless you go and buy a $ 40.00 adapter

can you use that megasquirt on the new hemi?

and BTW, i know Doc, i know that car. when he brought that to DW 06, it would hardly run and my friend Lane Culver tuned it driving down the road. didnt really help as the car was setup so poorly, it would almost launch itself over the guardrails every pass. was happy to see it running much better this year

I've used both. I like the laptop programmabilty of the MSD Hemi 6, over the dip switches of the Fast. Yes, you have to buy an adapter for the USB but its not that big of deal.

I think the distributor set-up is a step backwards, and it only runs one set of plugs. Plus that MP front cover kit is about $800 - $900. I will bet MSD comes out with more powerful ignitions for the G3 Hemis as market dictates need.

Talk to Matt at DIYautotune, he can set you up. He is extremely helpful and will bend over backwards. With his help, I have my magnum small block running on ms2 with an all stock engine harness.
