How do I get 3 water temperature sensors into a bb water pump housing? I have the stock 1/8"npt sensor, a self drilled/tapped efi water temp sensor located on the heater hose side. I can eliminate the stock sensor but i don't know if there is enough meat there to drill and tap out to 1/2npt, has anyone ever done that? any other ideas? I was thinking about using a t in the heater hose (yeas, I'd like heat in the winter) but I was concerned about the temp not being accurate, which hose is the feed off of the water pump? thanks

If you used the CSR water neck, you could weld an aluminum bung on top for one I think.
I have the Meziere one on my 383 but its not flat on top.
But then the temp will be inaccurate until the stat opens fully?
If I have to do that, I'd rather tap into the heater core inlet fitting off the water pump with a T

How about adding a spacer under the t-stat with a couple sensor ports? Not sure how much that one costs, Weiand makes one that they sell for about $70. Plenty spendy, but not high tech... Wink, wink... Clair

john, Its the iron one. I looked at the AL one and same issue, not enough ports. what are your thoughts?
The t-stat extension sounds interesting, it is under the stat so I should get a pretty good idea of block temp, there should be enough turbulence there to allow an accurate reading. Gonna go look for it

one more question will the stuff for SBC and BBC fit the BBM water pump outlet and t stat? I've found quite a few for SB/BBC with 2-3/8"NPT ports for around $40.

Yeah - that's a much better idea than my suggestion. I have a BBC water neck on my 383, just used a Chevy T-stat with it. I don't know if you could use a Mopar water neck on that BBC piece though, I'm sure someone will know though.

I looked at the housings , should be easy, you could couple probably do it to the iron one you have.
The alum MP unit has the heater hose connections plus a 1/2" pipe towards the thermostat just like the iron ones do , then you can add in the 1/8 in the stock location , if you go alum . The alum also has an 1/8 tapped port on the drivers side leg that runs to the underside of the thermostat , it's offset towards the block. You could hit that one with an endmill to move the centerline over for the 1/2 npt port , or you could just drill the 1/2 npt port in your current iron one on that side that doesn't have any .
