This morning I was driving the roadrunner to work. As I took a turn I lost all power. I have no headlight ignition ect. I went over with my multimeter and found 12.8 volts at the battery. I have voltage where I bypassed the amp gauage. Not votlage at the ballast resistor or alternator. I know electrical gremlins can be tough to find. I dont have my schematic at work or in the car. Any ideas on the problem.

Thanks for any help.

you can hot wire in the engine compartment to get home.
follow the line from the balast back to the bulkhead and see if there is power there.
if not then it is either the bulkhead or the ignition switch.
since you have power going in, fusible link is good. Just hot coming out is dropped.

Might check the bulkhead(s) as it's easy access but with you losing power to ign & headlights which are totally diff circuits I'd say under the dash. 1st I'd look at the terminals/connections in the main circuit from the ammeter out to the alt via the bulkhead for where it went open

Maybe the wires separated where you did the amp gauge bypass?

Its a bulkhead wire.My car did it off and on for about 2 years.I cant remember what wire but I think it was a big brown or black one.I used to keep my door open and then listen for the key buzzer to go on then I knew I had the right wire.I would push it in .It turned out the plug end is broke so it was the whole plug was loose.Pull them 1 at a time a check for loose or coroded wires .
