Small world - Tdenkler and I have had a few email discussions on woodgrain vs ribbed console plates in C-bodies. Didn't remember that until now... There have been a handful of 4sp Ls on ebay in the past few years, I'll ballpark that I've seen 5-7 of them? They're pretty rare, but they're around. One of them was a black/burg 'vert and being hyped by the seller as 1-of-1, rarer and more valuable than any musclecar. It missed reserve 2-4 times. As an owner of a 300L (automatic) and a 65 Sport Fury 383/4-speed, I'll offer up that you should keep an eye out for a 4-speed Fury also. If you're used to musclecars, either car will ride significantly smoother, but IMHO the performance and resale edge will go to the Fury.

I took some pics of that car, I should load to my computer...I had a white w/bk. top 300L auto I bought from the original owner in 1982 for $1000, car was in real good shape, rear skirts had a little rot, but that was really it, sold it in 1984 to hotrod my 69 Charger R/T clone - that was then - and dumb on my part. That was a great driving and riding car, I really miss it...
