It turns the power on but wont engage the starter. Just makes a clicking type noise in relay box. Have to use toggle switch to crank starter. Also i have juice to the coil even when key is off. Using a tester it shows a faint red light then when the key is turned on it lights up bright like its supposed to. Its the big blue wire coming outta the coloum harness. Its on my 72 satellite. Ignition switch maybe not sutting off power all the way?

usually a clicking means poor connection. Not enough power to turn the motor ovver. The light on when the switch is off means you have the wiring crossed some where.

I have mechanical Aptitude.
I can screw up anything.

Ive tried checking the connection on relay box. Dont help. I installed a new engine harness from year one. The coloum harness is still the factory one. Its all just ugged in. How can it be crossed? Also ive tried different relays....same thing.

power to the coil only comes from the ignition switch.
unplug it, and see if you still have power just incase something else is back feeding.

Next, if it is clean, I would bridge power at the ignition switch and see if it lights up again.

IF it is in the column(not sure with 72) and it is a pain to get to the plug, then unplug the column and run the test from there.

you might also check for continuity for the wiring in the column to the iginition swithc. see if something is bleeding by/bridged over.

I have heard of a couple YO engine harnesses that have a couple crossed wires. One was a 71 BB Plymouth RR.
STOP and trace each wire before you burn something up.
