Ok I'm crazy but I'm changing the front grill
on my 74 Scamp over to a 69 Valiant grill.
Using pre 73 duster hood and front bumper
My question is can I use the 74 hood latch
support and top plate or do I need to change them.
If so what years would work. Also what bumper to
grill filler strip will work.I'm thinking any pre
73 strip will be ok.Any 69 Valiant pictures of this
would be great email bell71@centurylink.net

Latch trays are pretty much year specific due to grille design changes year to year, I would have to say he is going to need a 69 latch tray.

I agree John, thats what I told him. along with the filler panel also. only thing I found to be the same is the latch support.

Filler panel will definitely be different. Is he changing the fenders ?

Mu reply is in the Question and Answer forum, no need for it to be in two places.

no, not that I know of. I am changing my 67 valiant to a sharkstooth grille. and just changed the filler panel, hood latch and top plate. wasn't an exact fit but noting that you can't make work.

Not changing fenders as far as I know the only difference in fender are the pre 73 Duster that use a full length top plate and the fenders have a tab to mount that to

Then as Rhino noted he may have an issue since the fender are different , your 67 fenders are a lot closer to the 70-72 duster/valiant fender

Mine , 73 Duster , 71 or 72 fenders , 68 Valiant hood grill and panel.
Had to drill 2 holes for the headlight piece.

I generally don't like the '68 grille and hood but that actually looks quite neat on a Duster.
