I decided to take a crack at restoring my own heater box recently among a bunch of other components. Here are some pictures of the completed heater box. I think I might have it down to a science if anybody is interested in having me restore theirs.

I used the blind rivets to reassembly my box too. It looks like you painted the box, what did you use? I was lucky enough that I didnt even have to blast mine...just used a Magic Eraser and elbow grease.
Im waiting on a second stamp as the first I felt was a little too bold.
I'm just waiting for a vendor to give a discount for parts. Gotta get a few new cables. I removed the heater box last week and hope to work on it Friday (supposed to be nice). It also works well, since I just bought a new underdash wiring harness so I have a little more room under there to hook it up...
Who wants to rent out a stamp with the #'s on them.

To do one you also need the tube rivets - size is 5/32 x 1/4"
Bill , what tool did you use to set those rivets ?

There is a specal tool made to do them correctly. I need to get one but the ones I've done so far I borrow a friend of mines.( for now)
I think it's avail thru Hanson rivets , McMasterCarr or JAYCEE Rivets
Not cheap though as I think it's about $50 for the 2 pieces of the tool
This is the same style(but shorter) rivet installed in an ashtray

Hanson Rivet - call them.
You'll need a hand rivetor $200 and the two squezzer dies ($16 each). The rivets are about a nickel a piece.
