I got a 8 3/4 a body housing,I NEED 10 INCH BACKING plates,I AM gonna use stock axle's and drum's,do I NEED TO find Abody only plate's or will b body work? any info or pic's would be great. thanks in advance for your time.
The axles have to match the drums and brakes backing plates and shoes You can't use a B or E body axles in a A body haousing with A body brakes and drums Same thing on mixing the A body axles with B or E body brakes and drums I had Strange make me a specail set of axles (35 Splines) to fit my A body Diuster so I could keep the lighter brakes and rums on the rear, the axle bearing spacing is different between the B,E,and C body versus the A body only spacing Leave it to the engineers to make things difficult The A body rear shoes and drums are 1 3/4wide x 10 inches diameter ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/2231195-dggif.gif)
