Here is a post for a 1976 Dodge Warlock. If the body is in primer, look for the interior pin striping as suggested. (There is a picture of the dash on the link above.) Also look for gold wagon wheels and chrome steps. Here is a shot of the door pinstripe.

pinstriping & wood kits for warlocks are available, and have been for a long time. build sheet, window sticker, underhood numbers, etc., are the only way to be sure. doors are easily changed, as are dash fascias.

I don't have a picture but it needs work. Theres nothing from the outside that says warlock to be because its just primered. It's a 77, is there a website or something with the codes I should be looking for? Thanks!
what should be there are: -dash bezel should be black (even if stipes are missing) -Chrome side steps on bed (code: NF9) -All glass will be tinted (no rear slider) -Tuff wheel (2wd standard) -bucket/console seat in black only

My core support/fender tag had no information that would specifically designate it as a Warlock but paint codes could be a starting point.
With any luck the underhood sticker is still in place and legible...mine was gone. There is also always the possibilty that the hood could have been changed at some point or etc..etc...find the original color of the truck, see what panels actually match up from overspray if you can find some and go from there.Without a build sheet matching the VIN and all stamped numbers on body, there is no proof positive way I am aware of to ID these trucks other than what you see and can determine to be original to the package.

ultimately, the warlock is only as valuable as you feel it is. available on any stepside as a package, why would a plain jane /6 be an awesome find, as a warlock? maybe a 400 or 440 would be hot, but really it depends how much you're willing to pay for some easily added, readily available pinstripes. the wood stakes are also readily available, as well as the plaques. buy it for what it is, not what it might be. that way, either way it goes, you're happy, right?

Plus I don't understand this absolute fascination with a Warlock truck!?! It's just an appearance package, and there were LOTS of them! Just because it's a Warlock doesn't magically make it "better".
They do look cool though...
LRT, Rod Hall, Macho's (and that sport package from the 60's that I can't recall the name of now) are far more "collectible", as far as appearance packages go...

I have a complete code book for 76-79 Warlock trucks which states: For 76/77&78 the body package Warlock code will be shown as GK9601. The 79 Warlock II codes are GK9724 & GK9725 2WD and GK9726 4WD. A basic Warlock includes the following initial options: D100 (2WD) with 115" wheel base, oak wood utiline (stepside) body bed rails, chrome plated bed steps and painted road wheels (usually gold), 15x7" front and rear H70x15 raised white letter tires, convenience package required, power front disc brakes frt / drum rear, frt anti-sway bar. special gold accent tape, special tailgate decals (79/79), 5000 GVW pkg, oil pressure gauge, 15" steering Tuff wheel (1976/77/78) and early 79), 15" steering wheel SPORT (1979). The basic code that is shown on the equipment code sheet is usually located under the hood. Now there are the black bucket seats with the center buddy seat code KB5. Paint codes for 1976 to 1979 are : J3 7858-Citron Red, 3450 Med Canyon Red, R7 3441. Canyon Red Sunfire Metallic, SG8 7883 Teal Green Sunfire Metallic, SL3 5233 Sunburst Orange, 3435 Sable Brown Sinfire Metallic, X9/TX9 4004 Black/Formal Black, PX8/PY 4009 Sunfire Black Metallic. The 76/77 Warlock tail gate will only have a 'Dodge' decal in Hemi Font, the 78 will have 'Warlock by Dodge' on the tail gate and the 79 will have Warlock II on the tail gate. There are many other option codes depending on how many accessories each truck was made with. Hopefully this will help you determine if you have the real deal. But remember this. The Warlcok is essentially just a trim package so any one could make a D100 (2WD)or a W100 (4WD) into a Warlock by installing the necessary stripes, paint, wheels. and interior. I am restoring a 77 Warlock (pic attached before restoration) and it's a good looking truck no matter if it came from the dealership or it was made by an individual. Good luck. mikeymopar68@aol.com

We have found a broadcast sheet in the top of the drivers upper control arm! It was a 25K original mile 79 Lil Red, couldn't believe it was still there and we were able to steam it a little and it unfolded just fine and we were able to read the codes! I have had several Warlocks and they were available with any engine EXCEPT the E58 360 4-bbl, they were reserved for the Lil Red.
