So this customer comes in with a 383 sitting on Schumaker motor mounts in a 74 roadrunner that was originally a 318 car. Any how the motor will not sit down in the mounts because the oil pan is crammed up against the front of the oil pan, the front of the deep part is sitting on the rear edge of the k-frame, we loosened the trans mount and moved it as far back as possible and seems like we need another 1/2 inch. Is there another pan we need to put on? Mabey there is enough production tolerance in k-frames that it won't fit in some of them? Mabey the mounts are just junk and don't work

You need a 73-74 B body pan, I forget the # for it tho. I used a Moroso center sump deep pan when I did my BB 73 Charger. IHTH

Schumacher tells you all the things that have to be done for that swap in their instructions including the part number of the oil pan that will fit.

I covered a bunch of engine swap stuff in my new book. The stuff from Schumacher is really good. They go into a lot of detail in their engine swap guide.
