your problem is one of 3 things. the scratches could be from dry sanding with clogged sand paper before buffing and not buffing the scratches completely out. not sanding properly before painting. or the primer shrinkage and solvent soak into the primer. you can sand and buff problem #1. the rest are time to paint. i would take the car back to the painter and work something out before i tried anything else.
perception is 90% of reality

Just like the others said. Stop now and bring it back, you are only going to loose more time, and gain more aggrivation unless its fixed ASAP.

When prepping the car to go into the spray booth, I usually wet sand the entire surface with 600, then I use a soft block with 1000 grit along with grit soap to wash the car.
Paint sticks to 1000 grit?!
Yes,....If your using a high quality multi stage paint, the chemical bases today, actual penetrate deeply in to the primer base,.....thats why a lot of the paint manufacturers recommend using their sealer on your primered finish, or even if you've sanded down an original or previously painted base,.....the reformulations are very aggressive,....seems lately every 2-3 yrs the componets are changing.....basically VOC compliance, as well as improved products.....paint is a "mirror" of the surface underneath, not a coating to hide surface flaws,.....I use Dupont exclusively, 2K build primer,...and Chroma Preimer BC/CC,,,,,,,,I bring the primer up to 600,.....if it looks good, thats it,.....but for Black, or dark cars,....1000 grit,
in the old shcool method, with single stage enamels,....240-320 was it!.....even single stage enamels are no longer the same as they were!
I've been painting cars for 32 years now,.....seen a lot of changes in the paint field!
And as far as the OP's question about "how to remove sanding marks"......unless your skilled at wetsanding, buffing out a car,.....bring it back to the shop!.....any thing a painter hates is someone screwin with "his" paint job!........if you've done a large area, you may allready own it!......I had customers screw with my paint jobs in the past (the MICRO manageing types)....they usally end up making a mess out of a what could have been a simple fix!......take it back ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif)

Sounds like the paint was scratched after it was painted, and you don't think it was the shop that did it. After reading the previous reply, I don't know anything about paint anymore. I used to block K200 with 80 grit, then 150 grit, then 400 grit for final paint with Centari without any scratches. Then I'd color sand with 800, 1200, then 1500, and buff with 3M Superduty then Liquid Ebony. I guess I've fallen the way of lead filler and hand buffed lacquer.
