I received my new trunk mat and the fit around the tail panel inner supports is off. Anyone else run into this? Is this standard problem or did I get a bad re-pop?

They all suck & it's been talked about, doesn't seem anyone wants to make a better mat.... There is a member that has an original that he will use as a template to correct yours s well as possible...

I had the same issue on a 71-RR. A buddy gave me a new mat that he had as a spare. Didn't fit worth a crap. Fit was all wrong around the wheel wells.

On a whim, I took it out and fit it into the 71-GTX, and it fit perfectly. Both cars from the St. Louis plants. Both all original sheet metal and not to far from each other on the production line.

It fit in one, and not the other. Don't know why.

Mine is a '69. Time to do some trimming I guess. Thanks for the replies.

You have a bad repro. If yours is a 69, you have a wrong color and pattern pictured in the photo. Trimming it won't help. It will never lay flat in the well unless it's cut like the OE ones.

I wanted to post an update. I ended up sending the poor fitting trunk mat back and had John (RoadRunnerJD)make me one. The fit is excellent. Thanks again John.
