Anybody ever run large fronts and manual steering on a big block B Body? I'm a big fan of the simplicity of the manual box but thinking of running 17s and not sure if keeping the original manual steering is a good idea for in town drivability. My 70 Charger is an original manual car but its all the way apart at the body shop and figured if I was going to switch now is the time.

It works okay as long as you stay with the stock box or the 20:1 box.

Do your friends call you spaghetti arms?

I drove a 64 300 for a couple of years with 245/60 front tires and non-working power steering. Which is harder to turn "manually" than manual steering. Worked fine for me.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

I run the Flaming River manual box and 245 -17's on my car and although its not meant to parallel park it does ok. Just be sure to keep the tires inflated.

Thanks for the thoughts, it sounds much easier than tearing my column apart to replace the shaft for PS.
