Would a rallye hood on a '71 Challenger R/T have originally come with a hood pad?
Who makes the best hood pads these days?

The hood pad was part of the undercoating package. (J55 I believe) I think the factory had a few different vendors for the pads. The moulded pad is supposed to be correct but my 73 had a generic die cut pad from the factory. I've seen other 73's and 74's with the moulded pad so there must have been different vendors. Some cars came with the moulded and some came with the die cut.

I wish I would have saved the original pad but I didn't know any better in the early 90's. I just bought a replacement from Herb's. It's an REM pad so it's most likely not 100% correct.
