Man,have I got myself into a good one here. The heater core in my 65 belvie is leaking, and i have it out on the floor, and i have never seen anything like this.It appears to be non servicable,as the heater valve is soldered to the core where it passes through the housing.there is also a plate soldered to the core that screws to the housing.Anyone out there have a clue?the core i bought is not gonna fit,but thats what i get for trustihg the ebay seller who said it would work on a 65.where can i get a proper core,or is it not possible.any experience would be helpful. Thanks Craig

looks like what i took out of my 65 coronet. i'don't know what the wire thingy is. i just stuck it back on. i soldered up the holes in my core. i don't think there are any new ones around. i bought a new heater control valve because the valve has a fabric type diaphragm in it that was leaking. hopefully yours isn't leaking; they're not easy to find. they're not a real simple rebuild. check your vacuum controls too.

what ebay guy sold you was what they all show for 65 coronet-I looked at aap,az and rock auto-they are not right ones-had trouble getting one about 10 years ago-mitchell motor parts has 1-mopar part # 2277023-you have to email for price-probably glue your swimming trucnks on though-I will look and i may have a new valve but cannot be sure-have one for 65 or 67 do not remember for sure

thats probably not a bad price. chasing and patching leaks ain't fun. i think i gave $100 for new valve and was glad to get it. found the valve on ebay.

the core in my 65 started leaking about 10 years ago. i was not able to find a new one. i welded the fittings on the motor closed and put the hoses back on. i never used the heat in the car anyway.

I never could figure out what the couple was for.My thought was a sensor but it goes nowhere.Usually the connector between the valve leaks.I have another spare in the garage for my 65.Almost sold the whole box but I figured Id save it.Rocky
