Hello...Its taken me a couple yrs to get around to putting this 440 back together and I have a stupid question,,, the Fel Pro head gaskets...install them with the plain side up or down? One side is plain and the other has Fel-Pro stamped on it. I,m assuming plain side down? The gaskets are OEM and I have all the instructions EXCEPT the headgasket instruction! Thanks ahead of time!

No difference. Install either way up.

I used to be an Aftermarket Applications Engineer with Fel-Pro for over 20 years. These BB gaskets are symetrical in their cooling pattern. Your concern is more from the metal cylinder armor webbing... they are tied together only for production purposes. The markings (blue stripes, part numbers, etc) have no matter on the direction.
