Guys,

Hope you can help I have a 64 Dodge with a 65 rear end which is out of the car at the moment hence the reason for my question. My question is will a 15 x 8" with a 4 1/4 back space work with 275/60/15 tyre without rubbing the wheel well opening?

thanks Billy

I have the same tire and wheel with the stock rearend and it comes very close I have had it just lightly touch on a bump or turn I think the 65 rear end might be slightly shorter if it is should work perfect

Hi,

Thanks for you reply. A 65 rear axle is 1" wider than a 64 axle, did you tyre rub on the wheel opening or spring?

thanks Billy

I had 8.5" Torquethrusts on a 65 rearend in my 64 Polara with 275/60/15's and I had to keep the shocks aired up a little to keep the tires from rubbing the outter wheelwells. Rims had a 4" bs IIRC. I now have the same tires on a 10" rim with 5.5" bs and there's plenty of room on both sides of the tire to run the car level.

I had a set of 15x8 wheel vintiques with 5.4" back spacing. Too close to the outer fender for me. From my measurements a 15x8 with 5.5 backspace would be great with up to a 10" wide tire. LOTS of room on the inside.

I ended up going with a 15x7 with 4.5"BS. Fits great with a 29" tall 8" wide tire.

very clever dinner. appetizing food fit neatly into interesting round pie.
