Pick up an SCT tuner from this guy: http://www.hemifevertuning.com/A majority of Dakota guys on the forums I'm on are using SCT and swear by it.

I had a Hypertech for my '01 Ram. Useless. Hated it. In the 87 octane 'performance tune', I had to run 89 or it would ping. My brother bought a SuperChips for his '01or '02 4.7 Dakota and loves it. Almost as much as the shift kit I put in for him.
