Im looking for a company or store that supplies a trans mount for my 62' Chrysler 300. I am looking for just a stock rubber type mount. I know Imperial sells a Poly version, but I dont really need it to be Poly. Anyone else out there supply these? Thanks

You might try schumaker(sP) or tallzag
Schumacker(sp) makes them for imperial and I think carries a standard rubber, otherwise, you have to find a NOS one for rubber.

Yes, I saw that Imperial makes a Poly mount, but I dont really need a Poly style mount. Im running stock "floating power" rubber mounts on the engine....if i cant find a rubber mount for the trans and end up going with the Imperial Poly mount, will that be ok? It seems I have heard in the past that mixing rubber engine mnounts with a Poly trans mount is not recommended...is that true??

The 62 has an odd mount. My kid had the Imperial Services one in his 300.It was nullet proof.Only reason its not in now along with their poly motor mounts is he changed to the later trans.Their stuff is truly bulletproof.Might be pricey but it wont break like cheap stuff.Call Steve he is a great guy.Hard to get a hold of sometimes but a Mopar guy.Tell him I told you to call.Rocky

I have no doubt that the Imperial Poly mount will work, I am now just curious if I use a Poly trans mount with my rubber engine mounts, will that be ok??

The poly mount will work with the OE motor mounts. My kid ran his for a year till he got Steves poly motor mounts. It had a ton of street and strip miles. It still looks new on his trans that now is in the garage. He ran it for probally 5 years.Steve used his car and my 65 as test cars for his mounts.Rocky

Rocky, I have a question regarding the installation of the mount. Does the litle rubber round isolater go on top (inside the spring) or the bottom (around the stud) of the trans crossmember? Any ideas? Pictures? Thanks

The grommet installs in the hole in the crossmember, the large area washer on the stud goes against the bottom of the grommet. The shoulder just below the threads on the stud tightens against the threads in the center of the rubber mount (insulator).

Be careful when tightening the stud, there are only a few threads in the center of the mount and they strip out easily. The whole setup is kinda goofy.
