I have an old street dominator intake with no air gap under the runners so I have typical Issues with hot carburator on hot days..

I was thinking to go with the victor W2 but I am a bit tired of constantly having to re-adjust the carburator and was thinking to go fuel injection. I don't think there is any kit available for W2 heads but is it possible to modify a junior Intake to have fuel rails? If so, do you know someone who does it? BTW, My heads are ported and the intake would need some work to match..

I have noticed a proliferation of EFI kits on the market... I have a 408 that have been dynoded at 505HP... which brand/kit would you recomend?

Thanks,

I did the EFI conversion on a "B" engine with Ed heads and M1 intake. For the folks that do it, its pretty straight forward to drill the manifold for bungs, weld in the bungs and install mounts for the fuel rails. I had mine done by an EFI dealer near Memphis who is now out of business.

Mopar Rich (Fastman EFI)on this board could do it or guide you to someone who could. Do a search on EFI and you'll find more possibilities.

I will be putting my EZ-efi system on my 408ci +500hp W2 motor...Should be perfect for it. I currently run it on my milder 360...

360 with Air Gap:

Mock up on a TR....

I cut the heat runner out from the W2 intake and welded it back up. What mopar was thinking I will never know. The carb hole was way off center as well right from the factory.

Glad to ear you are satisfied with it. I was thinking that fuel rails on each port was the only way to go for 500+ HP...

Here's a pic where you can see the injectors behind the alternator and other stuff. Its a B engine with M1 manifold. The board member who deals with EFI is Rich Neible (sp).

I have been doing some reading and it looks like 99% of the people are extremly happy with their EZ...

What kit would I need to buy, should I buy their master kit or go with differant fuel pump/line setup?

Should I change my sending unit i.e. for 3/8 line etc...?

I think they also have an inside the tank pump... which one is preferable?

I would need a cap to block off my mechanical fuel pump opening in the timming chain cover!

When you go efi, figure on redoing the whole fuel system to do it right. This particular one I built has an A1000 in tank pump with custom fuel cell and AN10 supply & return lines. A little over kill but I used a bypass regulator that with a spring change can be used for efi or carb. It litterally takes less than an hour to switch between them. I went with AN10 because I figured with a carb, I would be returning a lot of fuel to the tank and didn't want to choke it off and not be able to reduce the pressure down low enough to run a carb by restricting flow. Restricting flow creates heat in the fuel and is bad for street driving.

I agree with Dragula on the benefit of a solid fuel system. I started with a factory style pickup (large tube) and a frame rail mounted A1000 pump. It worked but not great. Electric pumps just don't like restriction on the input. Cavitation shortens their life and they make a lot of noise. Plus, spirited driving below 1/2 tank risks uncovering the pickup. Driving below 1/4 tank is never recommended with a factory style pickup and EFI pump.

An in tank pump or a bottom sump added to a stock style tank with external pump are best. There was a long thread or two on EFI fuel systems within the last year - worth searching for. The in tank packages best and is quietest. It also depends somewhat on power and fuel delivery requirements. There are quite a few pump options - including retrofit of a stock pickup with pump - for up to roughly 500HP. Beyond that there are fewer choices.

I switched to a custom tank and in tank pump and really like it.

Thanks, I am definetly sold to the idea of buying your EZ kit... Looks like an awsome product!

I am still concerned about the proper fuel system. I am affraid that the external pump setup will be noisy and sensistive to the amount of fuel left in the tank...

What about your in-tank pump...how easy is it to install it on a stock fuel tank and avoid the fuel migration issues...?

What about venting etc..

All of that has to be well thought out or difficult to find issues can arise. My stuff is all custom so that the pick-up is never uncovered during racing or street driving until the tank is empty with specially made sump. I have two systems and both work awesome. Originally, I had a healthy pro street system, and leaving parts of that in place was a big mistake..
