I got the popular repair kit for mine that fits most of the later model small blocks (3683947 off the top of my head).
I was hoping to use this kit along with the larger diameter flap from my 340, but it looks like the press-in bushings that go into the manifold have a smaller outside diameter than the old ones do. The shaft fits into the bushing nice but the bushings arent going to fit into the manifold. Hard to explain the whole situation but there's definitely something weird going on. Anyone ever see this ?
update..NEVER MIND GUYS THANKS ANYHOW....I found a picture from BradsNOS (ugh) that shows the correct kit and it appears the bushings are different. If anyone has them to sell or another suggestion I'm listening. Thanks

I have a NOS SB block kit around I could let it go cheap. The deal is the international shipping and one part missed, the W shaped spring. Will try to grab a pic to show you what I have and if bushing meets your requirement

Anymore, I just cut out the flapper, weld the holes shut, and weld the counter weight on to look original. None of the cars I own have been driven in cold weather since they were done.
Right. My question too. Mine quit working after a few years, and I couldn't tell any difference.

Right. My question too. Mine quit working after a few years, and I couldn't tell any difference.
If one still has the heat crossover open and the stock choke setup it does help but if not , especially in the crossover is block , there is no reason to keep it .
