First off, here is the car:

69 Cuda. 3500 lbs with driver.

418 stroker 10.3:1 comp

Fully CNC'd Eddy Heads from Hughes.

Ported Airgap intake.

248/252 .600/.610 solid cam

Holley 750 modded to flow 910 CFM

MSD E-Curve dist with 6-AL

TTI torque stepped headers w/ Ultra Flo mufflers

3:91 727 Tight 10" converter.

M/T drag radials 275/50/15.

Stock suspension.

Have had the car to the track twice now with the new motor. At the Classics it ran a best of 11.52 at 114 with a 1.62 60ft time. Best 1/8th mile a few weeks later in WV was 7.30 at 94.5. While pleased with the times, there is more in it, we are sure. It seems to drop off around the 1000ft mark, and we would like to think it could mph a little better than 114. Our best guess is the fuel system, which is bone stock, including the pump and 5/16 line. At our disposal is new 3/8 line, a brand new Holley mechanical pump, and a Holley blue electric pump. The plan is, this weekend, to set up the blue pump in conjunction with the mechanical pump and running all 3/8" line, along with adding a cool can to help prevent vapor lock. The electric would be used on race day only as this is a 95% street cruiser and we don't prefer the noise of an electric. So, with all of our Moparts pals on here with your vast knowledge...does this setup seem to make sense? Do you think this could be the fix to the falling off at the 1000ft mark? If so, how much do you think (ET/MPH) this could be holding us back? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

My friend uses a Holley blue with a mech pump and
he turns it on just when racing but he also has a 3/8
line and 2 pick ups in the tank

Thanks. Forgot to mention this weekend it will be upgraded to 3/8". Any rough estimate on how much ET/MPH the old fuel system was costing? 2-3 MPH? 2-3 tenths? More? Less?

depends on how hard it falls on its face
and if its running long before that point

Don't forget to put a sock on the new pickup If you don't, you may be sorry As far as ET and MPH, probally from .10 to .40 and 1 to 5 MPH in the 1/4 mile Please let us know what your results are One other thing to verify that you have enough feul supply, try jetting the carb up 2 to 6 jet sizes to see if you can slow the MPH down in the 1/4, if you can't, you don't have enough fuel volume at W.O.T.
