Have had the car to the track twice now with the new motor. At the Classics it ran a best of 11.52 at 114 with a 1.62 60ft time. Best 1/8th mile a few weeks later in WV was 7.30 at 94.5. While pleased with the times, there is more in it, we are sure. It seems to drop off around the 1000ft mark, and we would like to think it could mph a little better than 114. Our best guess is the fuel system, which is bone stock, including the pump and 5/16 line. At our disposal is new 3/8 line, a brand new Holley mechanical pump, and a Holley blue electric pump. The plan is, this weekend, to set up the blue pump in conjunction with the mechanical pump and running all 3/8" line, along with adding a cool can to help prevent vapor lock. The electric would be used on race day only as this is a 95% street cruiser and we don't prefer the noise of an electric. So, with all of our Moparts pals on here with your vast knowledge...does this setup seem to make sense? Do you think this could be the fix to the falling off at the 1000ft mark? If so, how much do you think (ET/MPH) this could be holding us back? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
