Thats a lock clip.It locks the connector.Usually they push one way then there is a clip or a push down type part that releases the wire harness from the sender.Rocky

Yep, seen lots of leaky oil senders. I use a pair of long angled needle nose pliers to squeeze the release tab on the connector. Otherwise, try pushing the connector towards the sender as you squeeze the release tab. They can be a pain to get off. I think that the plastic tab flexes a lot before it starts to release.

A lot get hard also.Then they can be a bear to squeeze.The AC connector on the wifes PT was like that.Had to use my needle nose to squeeze it and it was still hard to get it off.Rocky
