Well this season has been going pretty darn good! First really good season since we got 2nd overall back in the 2008 season. 2009 we were just out powered all year with our 496ci and 2010 we had engine problems. (with our now spare TS engine)
We did lost of work to our newer Ts engine over the winter and it really has paid off!!
So far this season we have one 1st one 2nd and the rest 3rd's and 4ths. Usually out of 10-12 trucks.
As far as points go so far we are in second but 1st is pulling ahead of us. He is the one with the unlimited budget and is running one of Schmits 650ci with close to 1500hp.
Last week we sheared 16 (or so) bolts that hold the crown to the carrier. So this weekend we pulled with a 6:20 gear in the rear and a 6:80 in the front. Didn't know who that would go but we still got a 4th so thats fine. I have a pumpkin coming from New jersey so I will have the right ratios back in for this weekend.
Other bad luck this year includes a MSD spark plug wire dying. The engine now has FIRECORES!!
Also I put new cork valve cover gaskets on and one cover came loose in a pull off. This engine REALLY does not like running without its vacuum. Lost close to a 1000rpm and couldn't figure out why until we saw the valve cover almost falling off.
Here are two videos from last weekend. This is running with the two different ratios. Engine ran between 7300-7600rpm on the runs. You can notice the truck trying to start a bounce with the different ratios but then it settled down and started to pull hard.
