how about some pics of those fancy victors?

what rocker did you end up using?

I posted some pics of them a ways back on this thread: https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...rue#Post6188397

I picked up a set of Hughes' rockers in 1.6/1.5 ratio to use w/ the Victors to run on some RAS shafts.

Considering you know where I live (and have even been to my house even though I wasn't there at the time), that's kind of scary...

You should just stick to posting pictures of your girlfriend wearing nothing but a 5-point harness. /

John....I should have said the EZ-1..If I keep my car,Those are the ones I want..Now...Back to the Victors!!!

Thats what I am using the EZ heads. But I dont think they will flow as good as other Indy heads or the Victors because the exh is not raised. I mean they work very good I just believe the Victors and Indy -1 heads flow even better. Ron

When I do another Big block I will definately try the Vics; I bought my Chapman 285's after the success Steve Dulcich had in our Engine Masters competition and they're awesome heads but they're tough to find, It looks like the cnc and professional porters have found the program that will pretty near match them on flow. They weren't available when I built my last MW stroker though and although I think a CNC Indy-1 is still the ultimate for drag racing, the higher velocity ports of the Vics should be better for a dual purpose motor in terms of mid range and roll on torque.

If there's one thing I do prefer on the Chaps is the Ability to run the RB Wax Wedge intakes on a low deck, Apparently every once in a while Ma has a good idea by accident. I also like the B1 sytle billet pedestals which I think adds a lot of stability with stiff roller springs, I wish Edelbrock offered it as an option.

I have a 505 with a little over 10.8:1 compression in my 64, MW Victor heads with 1.6 T&D rockers, and a Bullet 640 roller. The intake is a MW Rick Allison cross ram with (2) 835 Holley carbs done by Ken Jones.
Don’t recall exact number but I believe it was around 720/730 ish hp and the same for the torque. The max hp was made at 5500 rpm on pump gas and I shift at 6k. The 64 is 3650lbs+ and runs low 10.50’s depending on traction. The 60 foots are poor and the RacePak shows a lot of wheel spin. I know it has more in it but I haven’t figured it out yet.
Just make sure you have hood clearance…… I needed to use the 5”max wedge scoop because of the raised ports.

Oh by all means Ted you are right as the EZ heads are very good heads and for a guy like me who wants to keep it simple and have a decent running street/strip car you cant beat them. I just have heard that you can get more out of the heads with the raised exh ports. But I did not want the hassle of the header fitting and offset rockers. I went with the EZ heads as I felt if I do want to step it up more dowm the road that the EZ's have more potential the the Eddy RPM's which I was going to use. I would not hesitate to use the EZ's again and I am glad I did as it easily met my goal of running 10's on pump thru the full exh and driving to the track. Ron

Oh and thanks for the kind words Ted.

Yeah, but we're starting with a 400, with budget in mind. The second article will be a stroker BB and ported MW Victors.
Once you get past the pushrod clearancing they are a great cylinder head.

If the guys at Koleno play along there will be a 3rd article based on their lowdeck block, and MAX effort Victor heads using either a vac pump or maybe dry sump. We want to see the very best they have to offer in a single 4 barrel build.
