Well today I pulled two doors and harness from a 1974 Dodge Charger for my 1971 Superbee. I pulled the doors whole, got the harness that goes under the carpet. Now at the drivers side of the dash there was a brownish single wire that plugged into the window harness. Now I tried to get the wire out but it went into the dash and I couldn't get it out with out taking out the dash.
Is this brownish single wire the power wire for the power windows?
Are there any relays I am missing in the dash?
Has anyone ever reconditioned power window switches?

The brown wire is the power feed, it goes through a circuit breaker & the "safety relay" which in reality is nothing more than a relay wired so keyed power must be on for the windows to work... I strongly recommend adding relays between the switches & the window motors, the switches will live longer & the motors will work better.... There should have also been a single ground wire typically screwed to the bracing under the dash.. Adding relays will mean the grounds get moved closer to the motors & the high current load will bypass the window switches...
