This is for my 92 Dakota. Tie rod ends.
I know Moog is supposed to be good.
I see two listings for Spicer, Service grade and professional.
Can anyone tell me the difference between these three? Service grade was much cheaper while professional grade and Moog were comparable for price.
Which is the best product and is there a different brand I should look at? Thanks.

Does Moog have more than one grade like Spicer does? Also, is it true that all Moog suspension parts are made in China?

6 of 1, half a dozen of the other. You wont notice any difference in the two brands

Moog has been owned by trw for the last several years if that means anything to the debate.

I like moog parts, but I haven't used any spicer I think. At least not spicer frt end parts. Lot's of spicer U joints without issue.

Moog, TRW, Tread Saver are the Federal Mogul brands, Moog are the premium and worth the extra price in my opinion. Spicer Pro are good also , but Moog always has been the premium brand, and tends to show in the service life of the part

it's been a while since I've bought any, but I haven't seen a moog part that wasn't made in the USA...

Being a distributor for Spicer Profesional Series chassis and steering components for over a year, I can confirm that there are two levels of service parts. The Red service line is the lower price line and most of the items are imported. The Blue line is the Professional Series line which are virtually all USA-made. This is the line that I carry, and the response over the last year has been tremendous. The front suspension packages, components and rear suspension components are listed in my eBay Store (bremotorsports, check Group 2, 17 and 19) and will of course be in my website which is just about ready to go as well. For a closer look also right now, there is a Spicer-related posting in the Hot Deals/New Products forum here on Moparts (on the 2nd or third page I believe) that lists all of the packages. You can also contact me directly.

Yeah if you look on rockauto.com that Spicer Service Grade stuff is dirt cheap. I've never tried it, but I know you get what you pay for. The service grade stuff looks like it would be okay if you were going to put it in a car just to dump it.

I put a pair of the cheap Spicer tie rod ends on my beater '81 Olds a couple of years ago. I would say it's had 15,000 miles on them since then. The ball separated from the cup on the passenger side leaving me stranded on a gravel road back in May. The other one is so loose it was ready to do the same thing before I sold the car and yes they were greased. I'll never buy cheap suspension parts again. I just did a front end rebuild on my '80 Mirada and used all Moog stuff except the lower BJ's were the higher grade Napa ones which I think are the same as the "professional" Spicer line. At least I hope so.

Ive used thousands of Moog TRW and Napa fleet tough. They are all the same.TRW is a bit cheaper.Been doing chassis for 40 years and the last 25 as a pro.Now the cheap stuff thats what it is.We dont warrant any cheap stuff at work.If the customer wants it thats it.Soon as it hits the ground no warranty.Rocky
