In Nostalgia Super Stock, where any type of electonic device is a big no-no, most guys add weight. A lot of the cars have lengths of round stock in the trunk, where they add weight in 10lb increments by using the weights off of a dumbell set. It's legal as long as it's secure.

I slowed my car down 1 full second with 3 things... 1 is the mech throttle stop, 2 the launch RPM and 3 is the shift RPM... I made 8 passes within .008 total spread.... this is a pic of my stop that mounts on the carb in a few seconds... I needed something quick to change because I was running 2 classes

I have treid adding wieght, it does work , short shifting and trying to go from first to third, that works also, maybe not enough I have treid (that was worth 1/10 in the 1/4 ) moving the shift rpm from 6400 to 7000 in 1st and 2nd, removed the collectors, retarded the timing, smaller accelerator pump shot, a lot bigger squirter and added 50CC pumps Taller reear tires, lots of ways to slow the car down some of them unintentionally sometimes

With that throttle "limiter" I have it set at about 1/3 throttle and tweek the launch and shift RPM and its dead on for running the 10.0 class.... with back to back runs in the 10.002 to 10.008 in 8 straight runs and that cost me all of about 3 bucks and my time

When I raced the Challenger or RR in NO E index such as C gas I went with a adjustable bolt under the loud pedal, here is a bit more expensive method but I here the results arn't bad. This guy also races at Infineon....

That's what we're trying to get the Duster from 10.-teens to a 10.60, a 10.90 and 12.0's for Sportsman. We're close on the 10.60, but still working on the 12.0 deal. That said, Brett has been GREAT to work with and are almost always at the track with their 2 cars running 2 classes.
So far, I'm liking it, just have to swap some more plates with them to be dead on the numbers.

I forgot last night abot using a biiger or smaller carb. to change the ET My first Duster ran high 11s with a 600 D.P. on a TM7 intake and ran low 11s with a M1 4500 intake with a 1050 Dominator at Plamdale in the summer Do you have a 600 vacume secondary carb or a Carter or Edlbrock 600?

Thanks guys for your input..
We're probably going to take the car out this weekend to run a 10.60 index, so I was just looking for ways to slow the car down for this race only.. After this weekend, we still have 3 more bracket races and (hopefully) the ET finals..
Next year, we'll probably bump up the horsepower and may even move up in class, but for the time being, I'm trying to keep it easy and simple..
Thats why I made the stop that I did... I wanted simple and cost effective(CHEAP).... it would be a cold day in hell that I would pay $350 to do the same thing I did for $3.00... close the throttle blades on the carb or put a restrictor under the carb... same thing
