It's not that hard, get the hump, put it on the floor it's fits in one place only , trace around it , take the hump off and make a line about 3/4" inside your traced line , cut that out on the inside line, then weld the hump on.
I did it 31 yrs ago when I was 17 ... without the internet, or a service manual, or anyone to ask how ....

I did it in an A-body, what he says is correct. The hump only fits in one spot per the bend in the hump. I was skeptical, so had the tranny and engine in, and the shifter was in the perfect spot.

some things are easier than they look , but it's good to get help that may let you in on any potential pitfalls in advance.

You really dont even need a hump. That leaves you with factory tite clearances to work around under there. Unless you want factory appearance and no carpet issues, just make a tunnel and weld it in. Here is a pic of one i did im my cuda and carpet fit fine. Benefit is you can get big paws up in there.

One caveat is DO NOT cut your torsion bar cross member. Look underneath and maybe make a hole just ahead of it so you know where it is. You should also be able to see the spot welds where the floor is attached, but just be sure before you cut something you don't want to. Travis..
