I know this is not a restoration question, but I did not know where to post this.

I had purchased these bases years ago to use on a project that never got finished. I had sold them, and the buyer is sending them back to me. He is says I sold him junk. I would never knowling misrepresent something I was selling. If it is junk I will throw it away. These bases are not a chrome finish. They have a rough flat silver finish. The packaging has a mopar label with Part # 03734764. I found another set on ebay, and asked the seller if his has the same finish, and they do.

Off topic but I got them from Year One in 1990. They crapped out and peeled in about 10 years.

You didn't sell him junk, you just sold him an incorrect reproduction part. For a while there was a bunch of reproduction bases with flat finish. The correct finish is either shiney chrome, or colored plastic, depending on interior trim code.

I have a '70 RR, black bench seat with the silver inlay. Arm rests and arm rest bases are black. Is this correct? Would I be wrong to change them to chrome?

The M2X9 (STANDARD RM21 only) would have black bases, the H2X9 would have chrome bases.

Thanks. I think I have the M2X9, so I'm good.
