So i just got my HHR fan today. I layed it on the radiator and it does not fit. It is not as wide as my radiator. I measured the outside tabs and they are 26 inches. Please post any pics you have of your HHR fan mounted. And please give the dimensions of the fan and radiator. Thanks! ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beer.gif)

I'll take a couple of pics and show you how I did it... it fit my radiator perfectly when I cut the tabs off the sides ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif)

I don't have a pic handy, but I just used four ~7 inch pieces of metal strap and bolted them to the shroud and the core support...2 on the topside, 2 on the bottom (it pulls the fan back against the radiator). I also used some weather stripping to make a good seal on the vertical sides.

I'm going to add 3 or 4 flapper doors so it has more air flow near the perimeter while at speed... I have hear of guys getting hot while at speed but they are fine at 35 or so... being that mine leans rearward so much I am going to use plastic as a door but I need to determine how thick so it opens at a certain speed/air flow ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif)

You are exactly correct. I dont have a racing alluminum radiator.
I think that if i hack this thing up, it may not fit or function properly.
I am really thinking about selling this.
If someone needs 1 and the extra wireing pig tail let me know. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/callme.gif)

Mike i got the pigtail at napa. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif) My radiator had a electric fan on it. It did not have a shroud, and was mounted with alluminum. That fan did not seem to do the trick.

hemidart--- just start making brackets and do some trimming of the plastic. Thats what I had to do. If it doesnt fit --maybe think about a summit or griffin rad ? Last time I raced it was 97 degrees with 1,000,000 % humidity ........car never got above 190. Love my HHR fan ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

I ended up selling mine, it would not fit infront of the pullies. But an engineer friend of mine drew up a plan to use a whole saw. He was going to cut 1 whole on top and bottom by the hoses. That would have let the fan sit totally flat. And it would not destroy the shroud or fan in the process. You can also trim the tabs on each side. OR you can add some alluminum bar to widen the tabs if need be. Hope you are able to make yours work!! ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)
