I pulled a 440 out of a 47 plymouth and I am installing a 360. I want to reuse the 440 converter in the SB727 transmission. If I knock the weights off and use the B&M flexplate will I be OK?

hi
sounds good .

you may want to research farther as some 360 an some 440 used the same balancing as i recall ?
if so you can use it as is .

The 360 and 440 do not use the same balance weights on the converters. You said the 440 came out of a 47 Plymouth ! Interesting ! You should be good if you take the old weight off, and use a B&M plate for the 360. Just make sure you get the correct plate for Magnum or Non Magnum depending which engine you have.

If the trans happens to be a '66 or earlier it may not interchange based on the differences in splines.
