Next Sunday is the local tracks 'Mopar Sunday'.
My goal is/was to break into the 11's.
I say 'was' as I bought some MT ET Streets to help meet that goal, but the backspacing on the rims needs the be altered, and that ain't gonna happen before Sunday.

So, three of my last four runs, I ran 12.66 @ 114, 12.56 @ 114 and 12.54 @ 113. These were on 8 year old 205/70/14 cheap Firestone street tires.
This year, I've at least stepped up to MT Sportsman STs 255/60/16. (Still just a street tire, but I'm assuming they have a touch more grip than the old 'Stones).

Engine is a E-headed, 10.4:1 505", 0.587/0.593 287/294 cam, M1 intake and 1050 Dominator. Mopar 175K converter and a 3.55 rear end. Car definitely needs a better converter.

Attached is the 12.54 slip.

Based on the tire change alone, what are the odds that I'll sneak into the 11's?
50-50?

ET streets would have hopefully put me well into the 11's, maybe these will get me close?

Edit: Car's a 67 Belvedere.

With those speeds you should be able to see high 11's - if you can get your 60 fts to 1.70 or better.

It really would be my luck that I'll end up going slower....

@ 113.92 MPH, you're making enough power to get deep into the 11's. However, the 3.55's are not helping you, and I'd be shocked if you can get into the 11's on street tires. In order to get into the 11's at 113 mph, you'll need your 60' to be in the 1.74 range. On street tires, I doubt that can happen. In General, going from 12.50's to 11.90's is a pretty sizable jump.

Heres a question for you: Why don't you just take the ET Streets and swap them onto the wheels that currently hold the Sportsmans ??. or.... All you should need is a set of 15x7 steel wheels (what size ET Streets do you have?). You should be able to find these at virtually ANY used wheel shop for around $20 ea. I run 255/60-15 ET Street Radials on 15x7 steelies on my 67 B-Body. They fit with room to spare. And of interest to you could be that Friday, I went 12.06 @ 112.98 with a 60' of 1.75 on them with Calvert Split mono's and Cal-Trac's.

ET streets are 275/60/15. I thought they needed a 15x8 rim?
If I swap them for the Sportsmans, they'll probably still be 1/4" off.

You have the mph for 11's with no trouble. At 114 I had run 11.66. Yes you need a good converter and more gear will help but if you just put a good hooking drag radial on it you might tap 11's right now. With good tires and a better converter you should be able to hit 11.70's if you get that 60 down. Good luck , Ron

A set of 90/10 shocks on the front would really help your 60 ft also. If you do not already have that.
