Hi all,

I have searched old posts, but it seems that they may have came out with a newer damper.

This would be going on a stockish 383. I just look at that original damper on there and it scares me a bit...

Anyone have anything to say about this?

I know ATI makes the best, but it seems a little out of reach for this motor.

Thanks.

I have one. Its SFI approved so that says something about the production standards. It fits the crank as it should.

Now then ...

Is it machined properly so that the pulleys are in stock position? ... couldn't tell ya 'cause I have a whole bunch of things done that have thrown those things out of whack.
And as for that "chrome finish" ... well let's just say its not a triple plated, show quality finish - chroming was probably cheaper than powder coating.
And the final machining is done after the chroming so the rear hub and front pulley surfaces are bare metal and will need something to keep them from rusting after installation.
And the "laser etched" timing marks leave a lot to be desired ... I imagine a timing tape will still be required.

On the chrome dampeners, their hard to read when using a
timing light in daylight.

The black one is better on that ite,.
