Same seat, but all 69's 1/1/69 and later had head rests
What he said and you can transfer the headrests to it , headrests were an extra cost option in 68 so the holes for them are in the seatback frame .

and the reason they cost a million $$ is back in the 70s & 80s we tossed half of them in the dumpster and put in bucket seats....

FYI the 4 door bench is a totally different animal.
He just wants to rob the head rests off the 4 door seats , they are the same .

HOw about a 70 seat vs. 68/69 What differances are there?
They will physically bolt in but the latch to fold the seat forward was moved and the headrests in 70 are the same appearance as the 69 down headrest.

Thanks John, so if I were to recover the 70 frame and headrests the only visible clue would be the latch, right?
I got a 70 bench with my 68 but I'm thinking of using it rather than tracking down a 68-9 bench thats in good shape for a realistic price.
Headrests are completely different but you could just leave them off or get the right headrests ??? The latch on the side would be the giveaway , not sure if it's a matter of making a small cut to have the latch show through ?

I believe you can convert the 70 seat to the 69 style seatback release latches. I have never done it but I did look at a 70 seat with the cover off and I believe it had a cable down to the seatback release. I think you could remove the cable and replace the seatback release with the 69 style, which by the way can be found on a dodge pickup with a king cab and a bench seat that leans forward for entry into the back. Yeah, it's hopped up to over 160...
