Don't worry about the slinger. It is more shield to keep excess oil off the crank seal and help prevent leakage. Modrn seal technology is preventing this. It is cupped over the seal helping to keep oil off the seal. If it were cupped back toward the chain area then it would catch oil and 'sling' the oil back at the chain but it is not. The chain gets plenty of oiling with the crankshaft splash and fogging from the pan and the oil flow from the lifter valley. Never seen a dry chain yet. BTW some came with them some without from the factory. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beer.gif) You need springs or spacers to keep the rockers in place on the valve stems.

It has steel rings spacing the rockers but does it need the springs if it has these rings and the bolt spacers?
Who has the best deal on HD or stock stamped rockers?Iron are out for now and i have a hydraulic cam. I need to order new ones asap! Thanks!!!

With the Mancini rockers yes they are stamped rockers .
The crane kit I thought was about $350 ? You don't buy them separately.

Get about a foot of 7/8" I.D. thin wall stainless tubing, measure the width you need and have a machine shop or someone with a lathe cut them about .040 short of what you need then get about a dozen each of .015 and .030 shims, you can then space them perfectly for rocker arm/valve stem alignment. It takes a little time but will save you bunch and well worth the effort. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif)

Slings oil off the seal area. Chain benefits are minimal. Get plenty of oil without it. Do what ever turns your crank. Never seen a dry chain yet big or small block with or without. Course I have only been dabbling in this for nearly 45 years. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shruggy.gif)
