I know this topic has been raised before and probably causes differing opinions. My question is if I wanted switch from 3 to f what is involved in getting all the 3 out,(and is it necessary to do so)other than obvious draining of the pan.Trans in question is a 727,deep pan, modified clutches, reverse pattern manual valve body non front band apply.Horsepower level 600.
What are the pro's and con's of this switch if any?

There is no need to purge the old fluid before changing fluid types, in fact you can mix them in any desired proportion with no ill effects.
